A quiet morning in Tamale was thrown into shock and sadness following an unfortunate accident involving the official vehicle of the Mayor of Tamale, Alhaji Adam Abubakari Takoro.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, 18 August 2026, leaving one person critically injured. The victim was promptly rushed to the Tamale Teaching Hospital, where medical attention was immediately sought.
The development has generated concern among residents and those who witnessed the incident, with prayers and well-wishes being offered for the victim’s recovery. At the time of the accident, the Mayor was not in the vehicle.
He was expected to use the official vehicle shortly afterwards but had not yet boarded it when the incident occurred.
The incident has nevertheless been a deeply distressing experience for the Mayor and his team. Their immediate concern remains the condition and recovery of the injured person, as well as the wellbeing of the victim’s family during this difficult period.
